Connections is about everything that makes our world special, and fragile. It is all connected, the animals of the land, sea, air and the people. Our ancestors were much better about understanding that connection to the earth then most are today. We don’t grow or hunt for food, we don’t see first hand the impacts that man has made on the world he lives in. This painting is about remembering we are all connected.

Description: I would like “Souls” to mean something different to each person that views it. For me, I see the many faces we show the world. The eagle, the warrior, perhaps who we wish were could be. Our everyday face we put on each morning. Then the silent, thoughtful, emotional one that often hides behind the facades of the other two.

Hunter is a snowy owl in action.
Acrylic paint on canvas - 16” x 40”
Snowy Owls are one of the largest owls species size wise, but under vulnerable status in conservation. Though most owls hut at night the Snowy is an exception. Given where is lives the camouflage plumage allow is to hunt primarily in the daylight hours.
I found myself entranced by not only their beauty but the deadly silence in they way it hunts. I wanted to feel the motion and intensity in the paint.
